David Wallis is a research fellow working on the validation of radar altimetry for CryoSat. After graduating from De Montfort University with a degree in Applied physics in 1997, David went to The University of Kent at Canterbury to study for a PhD on the morphology of hyper-velocity impact craters. In 2001 David was awarded a 2 year fellowship at The Planetary and Space Science Research Institute at The Open University, where he used laser altimetry from the Mars Global Surveyor, and lunar imagery, to study planetary impact crater morphology. David joined CPOM in January 2003.
